The Tecan Gene Paint Robotic System is an automated liquid handling workstation designed for high-throughput in situ hybridization (ISH) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on microscope slides or whole mount preparations. It features a temperature-controlled flow-through chamber and an 8-tip pipetting arm, enabling precise and reproducible execution of complex protocols. The system can process up to 48 slides or 24 whole mount samples, automating steps such as fixing, staining, washing, and hybridization. It is suitable for various applications, including gene expression pattern determination, validation of gene expression results from methods like microarrays, and histological characterization of tissue samples. The system supports validated protocols for both whole mount and tissue section ISH, and is also applicable for fluorescence in situ hybridization and other immunohistochemical assays.
