A gene list is not a result. Getting from one to the other is what this service does.
We run functional enrichment, over-representation, and gene set enrichment analysis against curated databases, and we build custom pathway models when the published ones do not cover your biology. We also handle the visualization, which for networks and pathways is most of the work between having an answer and being able to show it.
The Core has a long history here, including contributions to WikiPathways and to the pathway figure resources the wider community uses.
