    The Zeiss Axio Scan.Z1 is a highly automated slide scanner designed for routine digitization of slides using standard brightfield or fluorescence detection. It is capable of scanning up to 100 slides at a time, making it suitable for large projects and digital archives. The system uses LED light sources (Colibri 7) and can digitize up to nine fluorescence channels with high numerical aperture objectives (e.g., 10x, 20x, 40x), ensuring exceptional resolution and image quality. It supports both standard (26x76mm) and large (52x76mm) slides and can scan entire 3D volumes. Images are saved as CZI files and can be viewed with Zeiss Zen software, which also offers image analysis tools. The instrument is designed for high-speed and gentle treatment of fluorescence specimens, with fast filter wheels and millisecond-fast channel changes.
