Antibodypedia is an open-access, online antibody database designed to help researchers choose appropriate and validated antibodies for specific applications. It serves as a portal for sharing information about the validation of antibodies, addressing the critical need for reliable reagent selection in biological research. The resource contains information on over four million publicly available research antibodies targeting more than 19,000 human protein targets from over 100 providers. Antibodies are scored based on validation principles outlined by the International Working Group for Antibody Validation, and the platform encourages feedback and submission of validation data from researchers. It is structured in a "gene-centric" manner, providing an overview of antibodies against a particular target. Antibodypedia is widely used in various research fields requiring antibody-based techniques, such as Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry. It helps scientists verify antibody performance, troubleshoot experimental issues, and make informed decisions, thereby enhancing the reproducibility and quality of research outcomes. Beyond antibody data cards, Antibodypedia offers additional resources like links to protocols, lists of common protein families, and other protein-relevant resources. It fosters a community-driven approach to validation, ensuring the information is current and reflects real-world experimental outcomes.
