Advanced Cell Culture and Therapeutic Production Facility

Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
    Core Facility
    McGill University

Located at the McGill Centre for Genomics, our state-of-the-art facility is designed for the manipulation and culture of human cells, including specialized organoids such as pancreatic islets. With an emphasis on advanced therapies, our facility supports the production of:

    • Regenerative medicine products – e.g., insulin-producing cells derived from pluripotent stem cells
    • Cell-based immunotherapies – e.g., CAR T cells developed using non-infectious agents
    • Extracellular vesicle therapies – Derived from cultured human cells
    • Human tissue-derived biomaterials – e.g., extracellular matrix
    • Combination therapies – Integration of cells, genetic material (mRNA, RNAi, DNA), small molecules, and nanoparticles

    Facility Highlights

    • 204 m² dedicated to advanced cell therapies
    • ISO7-certified cleanroom for stringent quality control
    • Three ISO8 access rooms for regulated workflows
    • Quality control and assurance area
    • Compliance with guidelines for cellular and tissue-based transplantation

    Ideal for Training and Collaboration

Situated in downtown Montreal, our facility provides proximity to McGill University and neighboring research institutions, offering an ideal environment for student and staff training in biotech innovation.
