Nikon AX-R Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope with NSPARC

    Lady Davis Institute
    Core facility
    Jewish General Hospital

The Nikon AX-R is a state-of-the-art laser scanning confocal microscope featuring the innovative Nikon Spatial Array Confocal (NSPARC) detector. This system leverages deep learning-based AI tools to simplify acquisition and improve image quality. It offers fast scanning capabilities combined with a large 25 mm field of view, enabling high-throughput imaging with unmatched edge-to-edge image quality. The NSPARC detector utilizes an ultra-low noise detector array to collect a two-dimensional image at each scanned point, enhancing signal-to-noise ratio and pushing resolution beyond theoretical limits (e.g., 120 nm lateral resolution). Its high-speed resonant scanning significantly reduces phototoxicity and allows for extremely high-speed imaging (up to 720 fps), making it ideal for dynamic live-cell experiments and sensitive samples.
