The Chromium Controller Single-Cell Sequencing System from 10x Genomics is a high-throughput microfluidic instrument designed for precise single-cell partitioning and barcoding. Utilizing advanced microfluidic technology and powered by Next GEM technology, it efficiently encapsulates single cells or nuclei into nanoliter-scale Gel Bead-In-Emulsions (GEMs) in minutes. Each GEM contains an identifying barcode for downstream analysis, enabling the preparation of uniquely barcoded single-cell libraries. This system allows for integrated analysis of single cells at a massive scale, supporting the recovery of hundreds to tens of thousands of cells per run and processing between 1 to 8 samples per run, with up to 10,000 cells per sample. It is optimized for seamless integration with 10x Genomics' comprehensive suite of Single Cell Solutions and reagent kits.

The Chromium Controller is a crucial tool for resolving complex biology, uncovering molecular insights, dissecting cell-type differences, investigating the innate and adaptive immune system, detecting novel subtypes and biomarkers, and mapping the epigenetic landscape cell by cell. It is widely adopted in various biotechnology fields, including molecular diagnostics, gene editing studies, and biopharmaceutical production pipelines.
