    What researchers can do

Upright confocal with a Coherent OPO laser extending multi-photon excitation to 1300 nm for near-IR deep tissue imaging. Very sensitive GaAsP detectors in both the scanhead and the non-descanned path, on a fixed stage.

Zeiss LSM 880 NLO fitted with a Coherent OPO laser, which pushes multi-photon excitation out to 1300 nm for near-IR deep tissue imaging. If you need to get deeper than a standard Ti:sapphire will take you, this is the system.

Configuration. Upright stand with a fixed stage. Confocal excitation at 405, 458, 488, 514, 561, 591 and 635 nm, with the OPO covering 690 to 1300 nm. Super-sensitive GaAsP detectors sit in both the scanhead and the non-descanned path. Point-scanning photostimulation is available at both one and two photons, and transmitted-light brightfield runs through a T-PMT. Z-stacks, time lapse, live imaging and cleared sample imaging are all supported.

    Objectives. Fluar 5x/0.25 M27 (air, WD 12.5 mm); Plan-Apochromat 20x/0.8 M27 (air, WD 0.55 mm); W Plan-Apochromat 20x/1.0 DIC M27 (water, WD 2.4 mm); Plan-Apochromat 63x/1.4 Oil DIC M27 (oil, WD 0.19 mm).

Software. Zen Black, with Zen Lite available as a free viewer. Laser use authorization 4150.
