A Class II, Type B2 Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC) is a primary containment device used in laboratories to protect personnel, the environment, and the product from exposure to biohazards and contaminants. These cabinets are designed for work with Risk Group 2 and 3 pathogens, including volatile toxic chemicals and radionuclides, as they exhaust 100% of the air to the outside without recirculation. They provide HEPA-filtered vertical laminar airflow over the work surface for product protection and a strong inward airflow at the front opening for user protection.
