    Magellan Tandem Multiplex Off-Gas Analyzer
    EquipmentAvailable

    Magellan Tandem Multiplex Off-Gas Analyzer

    Faculty of Arts and Science
    Biology
    Concordia University

Primary Function: Designed for real-time, on-line monitoring of off-gas composition, specifically oxygen (O₂) and carbon dioxide (CO₂), in various bioprocesses. It provides essential data for controlling and optimizing metabolic flux and gas composition parameters relevant to biotechnology and molecular diagnostics research.

    Technical Specifications:

    1. Sensor Technology: Utilizes advanced electrochemical sensors for O₂ and infrared absorption for CO₂ measurement, ensuring high precision and accuracy.
    2. Software & Interface: Features a programmable display, calibration functions (manual & automatic), error reporting, and dual 0-10 V and 4-20 mA outputs, plus RS232 for seamless integration into control systems.
    3. Capabilities: Offers multiplexing for simultaneous analysis of multiple gas streams, supporting 4, 6, 8, or 12 lines, and can connect to 6 up to 18 fermenters at one time with user-definable sampling intervals from 30 seconds.
    4. Internal Gas Pump: Equipped with an internal gas pump for continuous sampling.

Applications: Ideal for bioprocess optimization, fermentation monitoring, gas analysis in bioreactors, cell metabolism studies, molecular cloning workflows, clinical diagnostics, biotechnology innovation, and bioprocess control. It enables real-time calculations of Respiratory Quotient (RQ), Carbon Evolution Rate (CER), Oxygen Uptake Rate (OUR), growth rate, and KLa.
