Applikon (Getinge) Stirrer Motor Assembly for 15L/20L Tanks 2

    Faculty of Arts and Science
    Biology
    Concordia University

Primary Function: A high-performance stirrer motor assembly designed for efficient and precise agitation within 15L/20L bioreactor tanks, crucial for optimal microbial and cell culture growth. This assembly ensures homogeneous mixing and mass transfer in bioprocesses.

    Technical Specifications:

    • Compatibility: Specifically engineered for use with Applikon (Getinge) 15L and 20L autoclavable bioreactor vessels.
    • Integration: Designed for seamless integration with Applikon ez-Control and ez2-Control units, which provide advanced control over agitation parameters. The motor controller can also function as a standalone unit or with other biocontrollers like in-Control.
    • Motor Technology: Features advanced brushless DC permanent magnet motors equipped with an encoder for precise feedback to the motor controller, minimizing maintenance requirements and ensuring stable operation.
    • Stirring Speed Range: Capable of a broad range of stirring speeds, typically from 0 to 2000 rpm, with an accuracy of 0.1% FS when controlled by an ez2-Control unit. Specific motor types like the P100, I=6 offer 0-200 rpm for cell culture, while the P1000 can reach up to 3000 rpm.
    • Torque: Varies by motor type; for example, the P100, I=6 provides a maximum torque of 1.0 Nm, the P1000 offers 3.0 Nm, and the Esa 6L/30 delivers 8 Nm.
    • Mounting: Tool-free mounting on top of the stirrer assembly for ease of use.

Applications: Providing controlled and consistent agitation for a wide array of bioprocessing applications, including microbial fermentation, cell culture (mammalian, insect, plant), and various cultivation processes such as Batch, Fed-Batch, Perfusion, and Continuous modes. It is ideal for optimizing bioprocesses in research, development, and pilot-scale operations.

Availability: New units are available directly from Getinge Applikon or their authorized distributors. Used units may be found through specialized laboratory equipment resellers.
