    Multiple Axis Shake Table (MAST)

    Faculty of Applied Science
    Civil Engineering
    University of British Columbia (UBC)

The Multiple Axis Shake Table (MAST) consists of a steel table 4m x 4m and can be moved in six degrees of motion by use of seven independently-controlled actuators.  The actuators are arranged with four underneath, two on one side and one in the other horizontal direction. This results in the table having a higher maximum acceleration in one direction, and the table has a payload of approximately 10 tonnes. The table can move with a peak displacement of +/- 250 mm.
