At minimum we provide a standard description of the Core's capabilities, expertise, and relevance for your proposal. Depending on the topic and how it lines up with our own research goals, we can go further: customized aims, preliminary work, and percent-effort commitment as collaborators.
We currently serve as the Integrative Data Science Core on a program project grant in Alzheimer's disease, where we design experiments to maximize statistical power and control batch effects, lead the analysis plans and modeling for the integrative work, and build the standards for sharing data and code across the program. Past program project work covers combinatorial regulation of gene networks in cardiac development and disease, and reservoir features associated with time to rebound during analytical treatment interruption in HIV.
We are also part of the NCATS Biomedical Data Translator, the NIH-supported platform that links diseases, genes, drugs, and clinical outcomes across integrated data sources. We work on where it genuinely helps, by testing it against the projects that come to us.
There may also be room to collaborate on projects inside grants already running or in preparation. Worth asking.
