Max (Andor / Nikon Spinning Disk Confocal)
    EquipmentAvailable

Max (Andor / Nikon Spinning Disk Confocal)

    Pricing

    $70 / hour

    UC Berkeley

    What researchers can do

Inverted spinning disk confocal with 405 nm DMD photo-activation and a full-enclosure incubator for CO2, humidity, and temperature. Three excitation lines, XY stitching, and well plate support. Discounted overnight and weekend rate.

The Nikon and Andor system combines a spinning disk confocal with photo-activation, all inside a full-enclosure CO2 and temperature incubator.

Configuration. Inverted stand with spinning disk confocal excitation at 405, 488 and 561 nm. One-photon photostimulation runs through a 405 nm DMD, which is what makes targeted photo-activation practical here. Brightfield is available. Live imaging is supported with CO2, humidity and temperature control, alongside Z-stacks and time lapse. XY stitching is built in and well plates are supported.

Objectives. 40x air, two 60x oil, and 100x oil.

    Software. MetaMorph.
