The primary mission of the LBE is to derive value-added products from putrescible residues. An industrial screener and two hydrolyzers (150 and 2000 L) prepare your residual materials and enhance their biodegradability. A dedicated fermentation laboratory is allocated to them, avoiding contamination of cultures in conventional media.
At the LBE, projects have focused on biodiesel production from wastewater treatment sludge and bioplastics from pulp and paper mill sludge. The platform also enables the production of bioinsecticides from agri-food residues.
