The Bruker D8 Discover diffractometer (Cu) is equipped with an air-cooled copper X-ray microsource and 0D/1D/2D Eiger 2R-500K detector. The instrument can be optionally configured for (1) variable-temperature studies, from about -180 to 400 °C and (2) structural and other studies on thin films, such as X-ray reflectivity, high-resolution XRD, and grazing incidence XRD. System was purchased by a collective of 9 professors (from CHEM, CME, and EAS departments) through a CFI grant and installed in December 2023.
