    STX-220 Automated Tri-Gas Incubator

    Faculty of Arts and Science
    Biology
    Concordia University

Primary Function: Provides precise environmental control for cell culture, ensuring optimal conditions for sensitive biological samples.

The Liconic STX-220 Automated Tri-Gas Incubator is a high-capacity, robotic-friendly unit designed for seamless integration into automated laboratory workflows. It features advanced environmental control for CO2, O2, and N2, along with high humidity and uniform temperature distribution, crucial for applications like cell culture, stem cell research, and tissue engineering.

    Key Enhancements:

    1. Increased Capacity: Improved from a classical 198 MTP size to accommodate up to 220 microtiter plates.
    2. Advanced Handling: Features newly developed handling with higher speeds, spring-loaded mechanisms, and the innovative Flush Gate technology, which simplifies integration by removing obstacles in the gate area.
    3. Flexible Configurations: Available in Bench Top (BT), Stand Alone (SA), and under-bench (IT) models, with the ability to stack units for high-throughput results and optimized space utilization.
    4. Wide Climate Options: Supports various climate options including Incubation (IC), Humid Cooling (HC), Dry Cold Storage (DC), Humid MultiRange (HR), Dry MultiRange (DR), and Adjustable Humidity (AR), offering a broad temperature and humidity range.
    5. Versatile Labware Compatibility: Accommodates a variety of labware formats, including microtiter plates, deep well plates, culture flasks, petri dishes, and bioreactor tubes.

Applications: Beyond its primary functions, the STX-220 is ideal for biobanking, drug discovery, genomics, biologics, bloodbanking, agricultural biology, and high-throughput screening in research settings. It is intended exclusively for research applications and not for clinical or diagnostic use.

Integration: This incubator is engineered for robust robotic integration and is compatible with various liquid handling systems. It can be integrated with workstations such as the Microlab VANTAGE Liquid Handling System, which may include components like the Cytation 5, Nucleofector 4D-96, and LabElite ID capper/de-capper for comprehensive high-throughput experimentation.
