    What researchers can do

Upright point-scanning confocal with Airyscan and Fast-Airyscan for super-resolution and high-sensitivity imaging, plus a Coherent Chameleon laser (690 to 1040 nm) for two-photon work. GaAsP detectors in both the scanhead and the non-descanned path. The large fixed stage supports combined electrophysiology and imaging, and a 20x SCALE objective handles cleared samples.

Zeiss LSM 880 NLO confocal on an upright stand, equipped with Airyscan and Fast-Airyscan for improved resolution and sensitivity, and a Coherent Chameleon laser for two-photon imaging.

Configuration. Upright stand with a large fixed stage built for combined electrophysiology and imaging. Confocal excitation at 405, 458, 488, 514, 561, 591 and 635 nm, with the Chameleon covering 690 to 1040 nm for multi-photon work. GaAsP detectors sit in both the confocal scanhead and the non-descanned path, giving high sensitivity in either mode. Point-scanning photostimulation is available at both one and two photons, transmitted-light brightfield runs through a T-PMT, and cleared samples are handled with the 20x SCALE objective. Z-stacks, time lapse and live imaging are all supported.

    Objectives. Fluar 5x/0.25 M27 (air, WD 12.5 mm); Plan-Apochromat 20x/0.8 (air, WD 0.55 mm); W Plan-Apochromat 20x/1.0 DIC VIS-IR (water, WD 2.4 mm); Plan-Apochromat 63x/1.4 Oil DIC M27 (oil, WD 0.19 mm).

Software. Zen Black, with Zen Lite available as a free viewer. Laser use authorization 4147.
