This Dimension Icon/FastScan Bio sits inside an MBraun Labmaster 3-glove glovebox, so samples can be characterized in an inert argon environment. A CH Instruments 760E bipotentiostat, an electrochemical chuck and an electrochemistry cell with a heated sample chuck permit voltage biasing and cycling for electrochemical AFM (EC-AFM) and scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM). Magnetic force microscopy runs here too; we have imaged an artificial spin ice array inside the glovebox.
The glovebox AFM needs its own certification, including the Glovebox Safety and Use Exam.
