StayPuft (Zeiss Axioscan 7 Slide Scanner)

    Pricing

    $60 / hour

    UC Berkeley

    What researchers can do

Automated slide scanner for fluorescence and brightfield stains, reaching 0.32 um/pixel with the 20x PlanApo and Orca Flash camera. Broad LED filter sets covering DAPI through Cy7, with brightfield, DIC or phase, and polarization. Available unassisted at $60/hr or assisted at $200/hr.

Automated slide scanner for fluorescence and brightfield stains, and the newer of the MIC's two Axioscan systems.

Configuration. Upright stand with an Orca Flash camera at 2048 x 2048, reaching 0.32 um/pixel at 20x in fluorescence. Brightfield, DIC or phase, 405 nm excitation and polarization are all available. Samples must be fixed, sealed slides.

Filter sets. Alexa 430 (Set 70 HE), BFP (Set 96), GFP (Set 38 HE), Cy3 (Set 43 HE) and Cy5 (Set 50, BP 640/30), plus two multiband LED sets: CFP with YFP and mCherry (Set 91 HE LED), and DAPI with FITC, DsRed, Cy5 and Cy7 (Set 112 HE LED). Zeiss publishes the full filter set reference.

Objectives. 5x/0.25 (WD 12.5 mm); 10x/0.45 (WD 2.0 mm); 20x/0.8 PlanApo. All air.

Software. Zen 3.8, with Zen Blue 3.4 available as a free viewer. See the Zeiss Axioscan product page for full specifications.
