    Agilent 5975C Series GC/MSD

Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
    Core Facility
    McGill University

This Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GC/MSD) is designed for high performance and productivity in analytical applications. It features a Triple-Axis Detector for enhanced sensitivity, superior MS resolution, and spectral integrity. It supports both electron ionization (EI) and routine chemical ionization (CI), with automatic setup and gas flow control. Key capabilities include trace ion detection for low-level compounds in complex matrices, a programmable 350 °C source for later eluting compounds, and synchronous SIM/Scan acquisitions for both selected ion monitoring and full scan data in a single run. It is widely used for analyzing pesticides, volatiles, environmental semi-volatiles, hazardous chemicals, and in pharmaceutical development, food safety, and chemical research.
