The Zeiss LSM800 is an inverted laser-scanning confocal microscope featuring the Airyscan detector for enhanced super-resolution imaging. This system allows for imaging of tissue sections, fixed cells, and in vitro cell samples, including BSL I samples. It is equipped with four solid-state lasers at 405nm, 488nm, 561nm, and 640nm, along with a variable secondary dichroic for imaging any emission wavelength between 410-700nm. The Airyscan module significantly improves image quality and resolution, doubling the resolution up to 120 nm laterally and 350 nm axially, while also providing a 4-8x better signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The microscope features 3 highly sensitive GaAsP detectors for fluorescence and 1 detector for transmitted light, a motorized X,Y stage, and Z focus with Zeiss Definite Focus to eliminate drift. An incubation chamber is available for precise control of temperature, CO2, and oxygen for live cell imaging.
