    MEG Operator Certification Program

    Researchers are encouraged to become certified MEG operators to gain:

    ✔ Independent access to the MEG system outside regular hours (24/7 access)

    ✔ Discounted rates on MEG data acquisition

    Certification Process

    📅 Step 1: Initial Training

    • Contact the MEG System Manager to schedule training.
    • Training consists of 1–2 sessions (~3 hours each) covering:
    • Subject safety & equipment operation
    • Basic system design & principles
    • Participant setup & data collection procedures
    • MEG acquisition software
    • Artifact detection & troubleshooting

    📅 Step 2: Supervised MEG Recordings

    • The investigator will conduct at least 3 supervised MEG recording sessions for their study, under the guidance of the MEG System Manager.
    • Training sessions are billed at the standard data acquisition rate (with assistance).
    • Additional training may be required if deemed necessary by the MEG System Manager and Director of MEG Research.

    📅 Step 3: Certification Approval

    • Once the investigator demonstrates competence in MEG operation, they will receive a formal certification letter from the Director of MEG Research.
    • Certification is valid for all current and future studies conducted by the investigator.
    • The MEG Program maintains a list of certified operators, allowing PIs to collaborate with experienced operators for their studies.
