The Jewish General Hospital Cell Processing Centre (JGH CPC) at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research (LDI) functions as a crucial infrastructure designed to support early phase clinical trials involving cell-based and derived therapies. Its core mission is to facilitate the processing of human cells and tissues required for these studies, ultimately aiming to provide patients with access to cutting-edge, experimental cellular pharmaceuticals for the treatment of catastrophic human illnesses. The facility operates a clinical-grade, ISO Class 7 certified Clean Room, complemented by a dedicated Laboratory Annex. This highly sterile and controlled environment is managed by a team of qualified personnel, including the Laboratory Director and Research Associate, who possess a proven track record in the successful implementation and prosecution of custom cellular pharmaceuticals for Phase I clinical trials in patients with advanced diseases. The JGH CPC actively promotes the development of new technologies by institutional scientists and fosters collaborative partnerships. It is an integral part of the McGill University's network of enabling infrastructures and a key contributor to the FRQS TheCell cell, tissue, and gene therapy Network in Quebec.
