    Chemical Engineering
    McGill University

The Instant Pot Lux Mini is a compact multi-functional pressure cooker repurposed for laboratory applications, particularly in histological slide post-processing. In our lab, it has been used as a cost-effective and controlled heating system for tissue processing, ensuring uniform temperature conditions for sample preparation. This setup provides an alternative method for reagent incubation and paraffin embedding steps, contributing to improved sample consistency., Equipped with adjustable temperature and pressure settings, the Instant Pot allows for controlled heating in a sealed environment, reducing evaporation and contamination. Beyond histology, it can be adapted for chemical processing, hydrogel preparation, and media sterilization, making it a versatile tool for specialized laboratory applications.
