High Content Screening (HCS) - Automated Widefield Microscope

    Faculty of Science
    Core Facility
    McGill University

ImageXpressMicro from Molecular Devices is a fully-integrated hardware and software system for automated acquisition and analysis of images for high throughput cell-based screening (High-Content Screening, HCS) or high content analysis (HCA) for basic research. For more details please see the datasheet and short description.

    Key Features:

    • Environmental Control: Maintains precise temperature, CO₂, and humidity levels, facilitating extended live-cell imaging experiments.
    • Robotic Fluidics: Enables real-time kinetic studies through automated reagent addition, allowing for dynamic monitoring of cellular responses.
    • Plate Loading Robot: Supports unattended operation by automating the handling of multi-well plates, increasing throughput and efficiency.

    Optics:

    • Nikon Objectives:
    • 4x S Fluor, NA 0.20
    • 10x Plan Fluor, NA 0.30
    • 20x Plan Fluor ELWD, NA 0.45
    • 40x Plan Fluor ELWD, NA 0.60
    • 60x Plan Fluor, NA 0.85
    • 20x S Fluor, NA 0.75
    • 40x S Fluor, NA 0.90
    • Chroma Filter Sets:
    • DAPI: Excitation 350/50 nm; Emission 460/50 nm
    • eGFP/FITC/AF488: Excitation 470/40 nm; Emission 525/50 nm
    • TRITC/Cy3: Excitation 545/30 nm; Emission 620/60 nm
