    Sensorimotor and motor function testing

    Behavioral CoreBehavioral CoreGladstone Institutes

Motor coordination and balance: rotarod, balance beam, pole test and climbing cylinder. Strength and endurance: grip strength, inverted grid hang, forced exercise and running wheels, wireless or manual. Activity and gait: open field activity and gait analysis. Sensory function and sensorimotor gating: startle and prepulse inhibition, hot plate, tail flick, visual cliff and olfactory habituation.

They are worth running early in a new model: a motor or sensory deficit changes how the later tests should be read.
